The Foot Family Portraits in San Diego

1/12/2012

Back in November I was lucky enough to spend TWO days with the fabulous Foote Family.  LOVE them!  Baileyana celebrated her first birthday in September, so naturally, we were due for laughs and family portraits!  You may remember Baileyana from her newborn debut.... her pictures were featured on: Onto Baby   It's a great site brought to you from The Wedding Chicks and filled with everything for mom & baby!  It's really a wonderful treasure, to be able to document the growth our little ones go through during their first year.  Just look at how much she's grown!

Family Portraits at home I First of 2012!

1/10/2012

Welcome to 2012!!  It was a pleasure meeting Stacey and her sweet family... literally, on the 2nd day of the new year :)  Her husband, being in the military (major thanks from us all!) was home for the holidays and headed back to work.  Luckily, we were able to snag a few family portraits in their beautiful home just before he left.  What a great way to spend time together as a family!  God bless and happy new year!

Here's a sneak peak and a few of my favorites....

Holiday Portraits and Train Tracks

12/27/2011

It was wonderful meeting the Kammeljer family a few weeks ago!  Since the boys are super into trains right now, Millennium Park was a perfect setting for their holiday pictures.  It's always a great idea to include props, activities, and settings that will remind you of what your kids loved when they were younger and what their sweet little personalities were like :)  Life moves QUICK and kids grow up FAST.  Capturing these times, ensures that you'll have them forever.

Kimberly, you've got a gorgeous family and a radiant smile!

Plum District Family Portraits

12/27/2011

Back in November, I had the most wonderful deal ever available launch on a website call Plum District.  If you've never been to the site, you must!  It's for moms (SAVVY moms!) by moms (SAVVY moms!) - so you know you're in good hands ;)  The deal offered great savings on mini sessions here in the Portland area by none other than Erica Hartman Photography.  Of course, being so close to the holidays, most of the sessions purchased were used for Holiday Portraits!  Needless to say, all of my emails last month started with '...'tis to the HECTIC holiday season!' - so hectic, and so much fun, that I am just not able to post some of the wonderful shots captured.  Enjoy!!

Ooooh, and if you missed out on the deal last time, IT'S BACK AGAIN!!  CHECK OUT http://www.plumdistrict.com AND HEAD TO THE PORTLAND AREA.  EHP is so excited to be featured as one of their 'Best Of 2011' vendors!  I'm not leaving the details here... but hurry, check out the site for major savings through Thursday!

Downtown Lake Oswego is a great place to head for family portraits.  With Millennium Park up top (by Five Spice) and the train tracks below -
the beautiful backdrops are endless!

Tanner Springs Park also offers a great atmosphere for family portraits.  Though there is no official play structure, there are leaves to throw, grass areas to run around in, tall weeds to run through and the urban iron structures and buildings to create the oh-so-portland feel!  All of the images below were taken on one beautifully cold 37 degree day.  My clients are troopers!!!  And I must say, this LA native now knows how to bundle up ;)  Cheers to not being rained out of a single holiday session this season!

Hi Fabulous Plum District MOMS!!  Below are F.A.Q.'s and more info...

Yay! Thank you so much for your interest in the Erica Hartman Photography deal through Plum District! EHP is honored to be featured as one of Plum Districts 'Best of 2011' vendors.  This is the most amazing deal (we NEVER offer pricing this low!) For more info on all of our ‘regular’ pricing and packages, please visit the Investment Link  on our website - where you will also find more details about our studio and who we are.

Please call or email Erica to book your photo session at 323.443.5249/ ericahartmanphotography@yahoo.com.

We are so excited to hear from you and are here to answer any questions you may have.  Due to the high volume of Plum District calls, emails, and inquiries we are receiving, it may take a few hours to a day or two before we are able to respond to everyone. Please know that we are trying our best to respond to everyone in a timely manner.  Thanks for your patience! :)

For your convenience, we have created a little Q & A below....

Q: What exactly do I get with this Plum District deal?

A:  - $60 for a 45 minute Photo Session at one of three pre-determined locations in the Portland area.

     - 20 to 40 hand selected & color corrected images are available for viewing in a private online proofing gallery within 1 week from your session

     - Online slideshow set to music

     - 5 low res files

     - Your choice of 1) 8x10 or 1) High Res file

Q: What are the pre-determined locations?

A:  3 of our absolute favorite locations are available to shoot at on the weekends!

    - Tanner Springs Park in the Pearl District (could include a short walk around the pearl to capture it's beautiful architecture)

    - Waluga Park in Lake Oswego (fun wooden play structures, grass areas and trees - great for little ones!)

    - Downtown Lake Oswego (train tracks, stone columns and beautiful benches + a gorgeous view of the lake!)

Q: We would like our session to last longer than 30 minutes.  Is that possible?

A: Sure!  An additional half hour can be purchased for $25.  Please note, you must make this purchase when scheduling your session.

Q: What if I would like a photo session at another location?

A: We are available throughout the week (M-F) to meet you at a location of your choice (home or outdoors) within the Portland area.  There is a $50 upgrade which also includes 30 additional minutes added to your session.  It's a great deal!

Q: How many people can be included in the photo session?

A: This session is valid for up to 5 family members, and yes, dogs are people too ;)  You may add additional family members for $25 each.

Q: What other specials are you offering Plum District customers?

A: Great question!  We are offering the following if purchased within the first week that your proofing gallery is online:

    - A high resolution DVD of the files in your gallery: upgrade for $150 (These files are printable at any of your favorite local labs)

    - 10% off any product ordered within the first week your gallery is online. Please view the investment link on our website for product details.

Q: What are the difference between high resolution and low resolution files:

A: Both types of files are color corrected.  High resolution files come with a personal copy right and are printable up to an 8x12 at any of your favorite local labs.  Low Resolution files are not printable.  They are great, however, for sharing via email, on Face Book and displaying in digital frames.

Q: What is your typical turn around time.... Will we receive our prints/ files in time for the holidays?

A: - Most print products are shipped within two weeks of your order placement.

    - Most digital files are shipped within one week of your order placement.
    - Albums and Wall Canvas Prints are subject to a longer turn around time.  Please inquire.
    - Please schedule your session at least 3 weeks prior to when you need your products delivered by in order to allow sufficient time.  Thanks!

Q: What should we wear, what should we do and what should I expect from my kids?!

A: Those are some of the best questions asked ;)  They are all answered on our website - click on the investment link!

Q: What happens if it rains on the day of our photo session?
A: There are two ways to go about the tricky weather here in Portland.
   - 1:  You are more than welcome to upgrade your session to a weekday & location of your choice for $50.  This means that your home can become a warm, familiar and comfortable location for the photo session if you so choose :)

   - 2: I will have back up indoor/ covered locations for each day of photo sessions scheduled, just in case the weather happens to not be in our favor that day and it's raining.  The back up locations will be beautifully photographic and within a few miles of the original location for everyone's convenience.

The wonderful thing about Portland weather in the fall is our overcast skies... they offer gorgeous and flattering light to have pictures taken in!

If you have any other questions, please feel free to email or call Erica at: 323.443.5249/ ericahartmanphotography@yahoo.com

We look forward to hearing from you and meeting you soon!

Have a great day!

Holiday Portraits and Fun at Tanner Springs Park

12/4/2011

Tanner Springs Park has become a favorite of mine for Family Pictures.  With great iron works, bridges, ponds, grass fields and leaves to throw (ummm, of course!) - there are countless things to do.  Getting your family to interact during a portrait session is the key to capturing the beautiful bond you share.  The Briner's LOVE there daughter Willa!  And I LOVED watching them run around with her, exploring the park and letting her be the cute little toddler she is.  Willa is full of expressions.  Take a look at a few of my favorites from the day.  Happy Holidays guys.  It was great meeting you!!!

This is her serious face.  Still melts my heart <3

Family Fun at Waluga Park

12/2/2011

Recently, I teamed up with a great rep from Plum District in efforts to connect more with my PEEPS up here in Portland.  Plum District is a wonderful website for savvy moms...  by savvy moms.  Are you a savvy mom?!  Of course you are!  You use me, RIGHT?! ;)  So, if you're not familiar with the site - check it out now and thank me later!  Well, check it out after viewing the adorable pictures below....

The Fredrick Family was one of the first families I met through Plum District.  I'm SOOOO thankful they found me.  I had a blast running around the park with them and their oh-so-sweet little one!  We spent the morning (uh-hmmm, a 37 degree morning I might add!) at Waluga Park in Lake Oswego.  It's one of my favorite places to let kids run around and be themselves.

Look at those smiles :)

Family Portraits at Fletcher Cove Beach

11/17/2011

I'm uber excited to show off these pictures of the Obergfell family!  I had such a fun time playing around with the kids at the beach - it was the perfect mini session shoot!  If you have yet to schedule a photo session EVER, let the pictures below motivate you :)

Bringing props such as soccer balls to a photo session enables the kids to run around and be themselves... showing off what they are currently into.

I don't know about you, but I LOVED piggy back rides when I was younger.  Ha.  Still do in fact ;)  And so do they!

I adored this idea.  As I was photographing the kids individually, Amanda started drawing her name in the sand.  How cute are these?!

And how precious is it that she included me??!  Totally touches, this picture will be hanging in my office!

LOVE.

A beautiful engagement session at Wauna Lake

11/14/2011

It was SO much fun photographing our friends engagement photos last month!  Rick (my oh-so-handsome fiance) and I drove up to Wauna Lake with a couple of friends for a day of picnics, fishing and pictures :)  Gallus & Danae are adorably IN LOVE!  With the beauty of this private lake community, and the chemistry these two have.... well, let's just say their gallery is jam packed with amazing photos!!!  Check them out and don't be shy.  I'd love to hear what you think!

Holiday Portraits at Johnny Carson Park

11/14/2011

I was so excited to see the Paterra family for their annual holiday pictures!  They were my very first portrait client 6 years ago and it's been a blast to watch the kids grow up over the years :)  From the beach to Discanso Gardens to various parks -  we have yet to visit the same place twice for pictures!  This year we ventured to Johnny Carson park.. it's one of my favorite places to shoot.  With wide open grass fields, a great play structures, pretty wooden trees overlooking a stream and gorgeous trees, it's the perfect place for kids to run around and be kids!

Look at these beauties!
